A Tournament with Purpose

In addition to being a great time for participants, The Coastal Tower Classic aims to raise awareness of Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) and raise funds for TSC research and support.

What is TSC?:

Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a rare genetic disease that affects people at all stages of life. Every individual’s experience with TSC is different—many live independently while others require complex care.

TSC causes tumors to grow in different organs and can impair their function, primarily the brain, heart, kidneys, skin, eyes and lungs. Changes in the brain caused by TSC have the biggest impact on quality of life, from seizures and developmental delays to intellectual disabilities, behavioral challenges and autism.

Proceeds Benefitting:

All net proceeds from tournament entries and all raffle entries will benefit the TSC Alliance.

The TSC Alliance is the leading non-profit supporting those with TSC and their families. They have a 4/4 rating with Charity Navigator and has received the Plantium Seal of Transparency with Candid, putting it in the Top 0.1% of charities nationally in terms of transparency.

The TSC Alliance is working toward a future where every person and family affected by TSC has what they need to live their fullest lives.

The TSC Alliance's Vision:

To create a future where everyone affected by tuberous sclerosis complex can live their fullest lives.

The TSC Alliance's Mission:

The TSC Alliance improves quality of life for everyone affected by tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) by catalyzing new treatments, driving research toward a cure and expanding access to lifelong support.

Our story is one of determination and devotion—an unyielding determination to help bring about better treatments and a cure for tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) and an intense devotion to all those who share this battle with us. Individuals and families. Health care professionals. Medical researchers. Friends and family. Everyone who has a stake in this fight can multiply his or her impact by linking arms and working together to bring this disease to the brink of a breakthrough.

The TSC Alliance was founded on the core belief that community is a sustaining strength in the face of difficult challenges. In 1974 four mothers who shared the common bond of tuberous sclerosis complex came together to provide fellowship, generate awareness, pursue more knowledge and offer hope to each other. That was the birth of the TSC Alliance, and the spirit and intention of those founders permeate everything we do to this day.

The Crew Clash League (CCL) 'Crew Crown'

In collaboration with The Crew Clash League, the Coastal Tower Classic will be acting as an exhibition tournament.

The crew with the most points scored during the event be awarded a 'Crew Crown' for each member and the bragging rights along with it.

Points are awarded for attendance, wins, draws, and bonus points for creativity and unusual deck selection.

Note: Participation in the Crew Clash League is not necessary to join the Coastal Tower Classic, the Crew Crown is simply bonus bragging rights for those participating in the Crew Clash League. More details regarding the CCL can be found on the NEPM Discord.

In addition to standard CCL Tournament Points, each crew member has the opportunity to receive bonus points for off-meta deck selection as well as deck heat level.

Here is how crew points will be assigned (per player) during the event:

Standard Tournament Score Points
+ 1 Point for Joining Us
+ 1 Point per Round Draw
+ 3 Points per Round Win
+ 2 Points for Top 8 Placement

CTC Bonus Points
+ 3 Points for Off-Meta Deck Selection*
+ 2 Points for being a selected Finalist in the Spiciest Deck Award (chosen by our Guest Judge)
+ 2 Points for being awarded the 'Spiciest Deck Award' (chosen by our Guest Judge)

As the Q2 Season of the CCL has not yet begun, The Coastal Tower Classic will act as a exhibition tournament leading into the next season - rather than scoring points for Q2. The winning crew of the CTC will enter the upcoming season with the Crown and the bragging rights to go with it.

*Off-Meta Selection will be determined by playing a deck that has not had a Top 8 Placement within the last 6 months at any of the following: Eternal Weekend, European Nationals, NEPM Regionals, ELD Monthly, SCG 1K
